If student has requested for Air Port pickup, on arrival the student will be greeted at the airport by the college’s student support officer or nominated person under the meet and greet programme, provided, the student informs the college about his/her estimated time of arrival (ETA) at least one week in advance and the college has confirmed his/her letter or an e-mail on this request.
Meet and Greet Programme
After pick up from the airport, the student will be offered refreshments and arrangements will be made for him/her to call his/her family to inform them for his/her safe arrival. Thereafter, the student will be transferred to either the accommodation arranged by the college or the student’s preferred place of stay. Imperial College recognises that there is always a few days gap between student’s arrival and course commencement. This is the most crucial time for a newly arrived student when he/she feel lonely, depressed and homesick being away from family, friends and familiar environment. A small meeting at the airport and arrangement for transport, living accommodation and initial counselling plays a vital role in making the students transition a smooth experience.
Imperial College of New Zealand will provide an age and culturally sensitive orientation programme, in which students will be provided with exhaustive information by our staff, during face to face sessions, to make their stay enjoyable. Apart from information on the enrolled course, the rights and responsibilities of students and ICNZ, student support services, appeal and complaint procedures, critical incident policy, visa conditions, dos and don’ts, cross culture, and living in Auckland and about New Zealand, etc, will be covered in the orientation programme.
